Today’s vet trip! 🙈

Oh dear, sorry you had all those problems - and that you couldn't properly enjoy your cider to relax afterwards (nothing like a nice glass of cider to unwind 🍻:beer:).
At least you did get to the vet and you can be confident that the diagnosis and treatment plans are the right ones as it was the Cat & Rabbit clinic. I hope the treatment helps both your piggies.

As regards a nebuliser, you would be welcome to have my one, I haven't needed it since I lost Zebedee in 2018. He's the only piggie I've ever had that has had any kind of breathing difficulties/chest problems.

Really sorry that the cider made you puke :( I’m on week 2 of my alcohol free month. Could have really have done with a drink last night. I hope today is a better day for you xx

Luigi the porker has mineral deposits in both eyes on top of his cataracts, Kim wasn’t too worried but I need to keep an eye on his cataracts because of possible issues in the future. She also found a lump near his lymph node (my heart sank) so could be possible cancer or an abscess, but thankfully it’s moving around and she thinks it’s a fatty lump! Hard to feel with all his fat bits! 🙈 So relieved! ❤️
She also said he seems to have had a tooth issue in the past (I adopted him at around a year old although I think he was a bit younger, so probably before he came to me), his left side is different to the right but not causing him issues of course (🐷), but something I wasn’t aware of!

Little Cleo however has a heart murmur :( It’s never been picked up on despite her many vet trips, she said it’s very slight but had noticed her ears were quite white when I first got her out of the carrier, they then started getting more pink.
She has issues with hay and becomes Little Miss Trumpet Nose, gets very irritated and has metacam on those days as she gets very snotty and very noisy. It always stays in her upper airways and never goes to her chest, I’ve learnt now over the months to just use a handheld hoover in her cage and we always have one particular orchard grass as it’s the only thing that doesn’t set her off!
But a couple of months ago she had the worst episode I’ve seen, was gasping with mouth wide open struggling to breathe as so many snots, went quite weak and floppy and scared the cack out of me! Then fine after 10 minutes like always! So since then I’ve really worried, she hasn’t grown or put weight on since 8months old (a year old now) is absolutely tiny at 800g and something wasn’t right. So the heart murmur explains a lot (and I’d mentioned to some forum friends she reminded me of my heart rat Ollie with the gasping so that was in the back of my mind tbh). I just knew there was something, maybe mother’s intuition!
So little Cleo now has Bisolven as well as metacam to help on her bad days and what I went to discuss, she’ll be getting a nebuliser!
Any recommendations on good piggy nebulisers would be a massive help from anyone please, I’ve never had one with any of my gang in the past so all new to me! :)

And to top the bad day off, poor Luigi and Lolo were nearly killed when the barrier at the station closed on their carrier in Northampton station! So I swore and screamed at the top of my lungs as I tried to pull them out, thankfully a girl ran over to help! Then sat shaking and crying trying to put it back together after they nearly fell out! 🤬🙈 But another new carrier needed now I think as that’s wobbly! 🤦‍♀️😡

Oh and Princess my sisters dog (who had cancer a few months ago) was at the vets again this morning for another lump (I’ve been pestering). Got a phone call while coming back, the cancer’s back! ☹️☹️☹️ Operation on the 20th ☹️

Piggies are more relaxed now but I’m a bit of a state if I’m honest. Having some cider which I’ll regret later with my dodgy belly but I’m alone and sad and I bloody need it! What a horrible day! Please send virtual hugs! Daisy’s ignoring me the useless cat! :))

Thank you so much, what a lovely offer, that’s so nice of you! Are you sure?! I’d hate to take it and you have to buy another in the future! Cleo’s been my only piggle with those issues too! That would be amazing if that’s ok, would have to buy it though, couldn’t just pinch it!

Aw yes she was! She’s my extra special wonky girl bless her :wub: Dread to think what would’ve happened to her at that pet shop with all her issues! Biter, honker, wonky feet and now a heart pig, she’s got a good list to her name! x

Oh and that’s the carrier! The ticket barrier clamped the back right and bottom left and just kept squeezing together til it popped in the middle and the holder flew off and Luigi was hanging out of the back! Thank god I didn’t lose him in that station, stairs everywhere and not sure he would’ve returned with us tbh 🙈 Thank goodness for that lovely girl, she even came back to check I was ok as I was screaming it was killing my pigs! Lots of people just stood and watched but thanks so much to her! 😇
A nice dent and mark now and will be replaced!

Yes blooming terrifying! Caught me off guard and had J&C’s carrier in my right hand so was flapping! So quick to clamp and squash! :yikes: Thank goodness for her!

I’m back to water and tea so sure it’s better than that! Can’t even drink fruit squash anymore as gives me a dodgy tum! Got my stomach biopsy results back yesterday morning and all normal! 🤦‍♀️ Got a phone appt with Dr Disney(!) on the 20th so will see what he suggests! A nice cold beer would be so good :drool: :xd: xx

I’m glad that your stomach biopsy results came back normal although that doesn’t really help you. I hope the Dr can suggest something xx

Haha yes definitely couldn’t make it up! Have to laugh now but what a shocker of a day! 🙈 My lovely cousin’s (who’s kitten Pepper I looked after) offered to take me next time bless her so might take her up on that offer! 😆
Thanks, yeah I’ll look after my bubs and do whatever they need :) Yes that’ll be Cleo’s new chamber I think! Bought two new ones recently but the large one I got for Luigi and Lolo was massive so it’s going to Daisy! Another new shiny one it is! :)) 5 blooming carriers already! 😆

Thanks so much ❤️ The vet recommends surgery this time but if it returns again (better not!) then they’re not going to operate again with her age. Hopefully this surgery goes as well as the last one and as it’s in the very early stages 🤞the scar’s not as huge! Thank you 😊 xx

Scary! I am so glad that someone helped you, I am glad there are still a few decent strangers in the world.

Honestly I hate it when everyone stands around spectating and doing nothing…or worse FILMING in on thier phones instead of coming to the rescue. Once had a colleague who had a heart attack on a busy morning train platform during his commute. NO ONE helped but eventually someone called an ambulance. Not sure if it was someone on the platform or someone monitoring the cctv as I only heard through other colleagues after it had happened. Unfortunately he passed away, I didn’t know him well but I was extremely angry for a long time that a platform full of people turned a blind eye instead of coming to his aide.
 
Hi. Can i please ask if the vet you went to is the one in Northampton? I'm guessing they are a good vet? I was brought up in Northampton and now live in a village on the outskirts. Be good to know which vet to go to. It would only be 30 mins drive from me

Glad everyone was OK in the end and not lost by the barrier

Thank you, yes I was very lucky someone nice came to the rescue! If she wasn’t holding the top I wouldn’t have got my hand underneath fast enough to catch my poor boy! 🙈

How sad 😞 That’s disgusting that people just ignored what was happening. How horrible for him and his family, poor guy 🙁 Not surprised it angered you.
