This is Ginger, or to be more specific, Ginger's hind left foot. As you can see, her claw is extremely overgrown. This is what I thought was Bumblefoot, because my sister didn't describe it properly. I have e-mailed the vet as to what to do, and am waiting for his reply.
Here's me trying to get Ginger to sit still for the camera. Obviously, she's very wriggly!
Toffee and Ginger munching on hay.
OMG, I never knew, but apparently, they never have hay. When we got them, their cage was lined with newspaper, they had a little wooden hidey-hut, a food bowl and a water bottle. That was it! No hay, no bedding! So I cleaned them out, and all we had spare was woodshavings, not the best but good enough for these two ladies. So I just grabbed like three handfulls of hay and stuffed it in the cage. They had a feast! Like, 'What the heck is this Toffee?' and 'I dunno Ginger, but it tasted good!"
The cage after it was cleaned. Nice and clean and fresh!
More to come soon! Tomorrow they are going in the garden for a bit of grazing time.
I forgot, their poops are really small and there are like three times the amount of Tobii and Rocket's put together! I was thinking it was the lack of hay and fibre in their diet? And also, they are very overweight, how do I tell the school without them taking offense?
yes poops **** due to the hay shortage! I have had a few days where tiger didn't eat hay intially and his poos were mich smaller and almost round! I realised quickly he didn't really like the hay rack I solved it by putting hay in the litter tray and he went back to normal. So would suggest they should be ok once they get a good amount of hay in them and maybe tomorrow should be pooing better. If they have hay then may loose weight as they were probably filling up on pellets if they didn't have the hay to fill them up! You could try maybe taking some hay to school when you take them back and asking the teacher to buy some for the future!
