Maybe a silly thread but I empty the tomatoes when I give them veg but Iv seen peoplegive them whole cherry tomatoes? I feel so stupid asking this hahah....

It's not stupid, I see many people worried about the seeds. I give them whole, though. They usually make a mess, haha, but that's the worst of it. The only part you should avoid is the greens.

I have never given tomatoes because I read that the acidity can give them sore lips. I think occasionally as treats is officially OK but I still feel worried about it! I would say from personal tomato eating that it's the squishy inside gloop that seems more acid/sour tasting, so probably scooping it out before giving to piggies is kind to those cute donut lips!

Like you @Wheekwheekcavy I used to scoop out the seeds at first (new ownership worries) but now I give them all the tomato. I slice it in half, then each half into segments (like an orange) and then each segmant into four or five. Some of our piggies slurp up the sloppy seed bit first.

My piggies get cherry tomatoes as a treat every couple of weeks. I usually just cut them in half and have never had any problems.

Seem to be having a problem with my posting from my mobile.

My piggies love a cherry tomato occasionally, I just give it whole too. Not when on my knee though as very messy beasts with them!

I take the seeds out because it creates a mess on my fleece cage liner and then dries hard but there is no danger reason for removing the seeds
