My 6 boys have just tried tomatoes for the first time, and they loved them. They have little red beards now though. How often would anyone recommend them having tomatoes, I have never given any of my pigglies tomatoes before so I am unsure

Fruit can be fed twice a week. Aww little tomato mouths! You should have taken a picture!

I love watching mine devour one, I give them the small cherry tomatoes, and they can consume a whole one without even dropping it once.

Mine aren't too fussed on tomatoes! They will eat them, but they won't eat the pulpy bit in the middle, only the crunchier outside bits and they eat most of them if I cut out all the pulp before I give it to them. It's not one of their fave foods...but that's ok because you're not supposed to give them then more than a few times a week because they are very acidic and could cause mouth sores if they have too many. Sounds well cute though the little beards!

When Minky was ill & needed building up I gave her 2 or 3 ml of unsweetened tomato juice each morning for about 4 months. She loved it. I wouldn't normally give a healthy piggy that much but it helped to build her weight up after it have severely dropped. I rarely give them tomatoes now but they do get peppers every day.

Aren't piggies fussy sometimes? My current foster piggy(pictured in my avatar) won't touch tomatoes AT ALL! He has distinct favourite veggies. All my foster piggies have had their own likes and dislikes - it's fascinating:)

Mine love tomatoes :) They are a good source of vitamin C & as mine don't get fruit very often then I give them a cherry tomato each every day & have never had a problem with piggies getting sore mouths :) (I do remove the pips first though)

My girls love tomatoes, the were Sookies (RIP) favourite food, I love their little soggy chins after eating them. I give them tomatoes 2-3 times a week but not every week, they'll either get a whole big tomato or a 2-3 cherry tomatoes. I've never had any problems with them getting sores on their mouths after eating them.
