Just wondered which you think is best for the piggies?
 
I occasionally scoop out the middle as I keep hearing mixed reports whether they should eat them or not! But if it's cherry toms I don't usually scoop out the seeds.
 
I only very occasionally give mine tomatoes as I know it can give them mouth sores. When they do get them its usually cherry tomatoes and I'll just chop them up seeds and all.
 
Mine love cherry tomatoes, they don't have that too often but they have all the tomato. I quarter them to avoid choking. :)
 
Most of mine love it, but i don't feed too often. i think i'll start taking out the seeds, cos thinking about it, they could choke :o

The seeds are coated in a jelly like substance which makes them easy to swallow for all animals. I've never taken out the seeds of cherry tomatoes (I don't feed the normal sized ones, they don't seem to be as popular). Here's a wee step by step to show your pigs how to eat a cherry tomato properly, as illustrated by Bonnie.

I love it when you give them a whole cherry tomato and they're not quite sure at first how to get into it ;D Doesn't take 'them long though! Love the last pic on the top row of Bonnie, that's such a cute pic!
 
bobs not too smart he can never work out how to eat a whole cherry tomato. he throws a rightt strop cos he cant get into it ;D then he gets mad at munchie because munchie can do it.

he waits til munchie has gotten into his tomato then steals that! ;D

i only feed cherry tomatoes, mine arent keen on regular tomatoes
 
9 times out of 10 mine refuse to eat them. If they havn't had them for ages and I offer them a bit whilst they're out of the cage they'll sometimes eat it but they don't really like them.
 
all mine love tomatoes they have the noaml big ones they like them better then the little ones my piggies like the somthing to get they teth in to
 
My girls love chery tomatoes cut in half...the male eats them but always leaves one...lol...just need to be careful they don't get sores round their mouth from them.
 
I don't feed tomatoes to my piggies at all.
I've tried in the past, but they don't touch them 98)
Will perhaps think about introducing them again though.
 
My piggies love cherry tomatoes and are treated to one or two a week :) My rabbit Snoopy adores them, however when she tries to eat one she ends up rolling it around on the carpet until I hold it for her ::) I don't think rabbits are as intelligant as piggies as she never thinks to put a paw on her food to keep it still whereas the piggies hold onto their food or tuck half eaten bits underneath them :)
 
My piggies won't touch tomato, which is fine because neither will I ;D
 
My boar will not entertain tomatoes of any size or description - I keep trying and he just keeps turning up his cute little nose!
 
Hmm, mine have cherry toms practically every day. They adore them. Am I feeding them to often? I chop them small and they haven't got sores so far? ?
 
yeah i think you are feeding them too much, mine have 2 cherry tomatos between 3 of them maybe twice a week :)

maybe feed them less to make sure they dont get any sores around the mouth area etc O0
 
Mine get tomatoes every day too, the ones who like them & i've never had probs with mouth sores :)
 
can they be fed everyday then? :-\ i got told they can cause mouth sores ?
 
One of mine loves the cherry tomatos, seeds and all. Wilf, my other one, doesnt seem too fussed at the moment but will take a nibble occasionally.

I have since found out that new girl Sparkles like tomatoes, although not the seeds ;D
