Okay big day tomorrow for little Marmite, he's going to Norman Gormans guinea pig sanctuary to see how he gets on with some other piggies ...
I'm on strict instructions to only come back home with Marmite and then me and OH will discuss it as he's still unsure about a) taking on another pig and b) putting marmite with another piggy , but he's getting the chance to see how he gets on as he's been labelled as aggressive by pets at home, i think he's just a very dominant piggy in need of a special piggy friend.
So fingers crossed.

heres Marmite !

So cute, aggressive isn't the word that springs to mind! Hope tommorrow goes well!

Haha, yeah, very innocent looking face but I'm sure my opinion may change on my little darling tomorrow when face to face with another pig !

Good luck - he is just picky - hope he pickies a special friend tomorrow:(|)

Good luck Marmite x

Good luck! Let's hope he meets that special buddy he's been waiting for :)

Got on amazingly :3 here's some pictures

There's no gaurentee I'll bring this little boy home but he's adorable.

This is the last single pig for bonding there's only about 4 or 5 others up for adoption as Molly is trying to reduce numbers as shes taking on a puppy, she does have baby hedgehogs and a chick there too !

awww bless! cute little texel!

I was going to contact her as I'm looking for a friend for one of my boars, but if she's only got a few left then there isn't much point! oh well

Theres no more loan boars for now but i'll keep you updated (:

Hey how did it go? I have been meaning to get hold of that Norman Gorman fella. They got any cute babies? x) lol

That fella is a woman :')

All the babies have either been reserve or rehomed now apart from this little one who may be mine still unsure.

However there was the most adorable duo, and there's still a neutered boar and sow pair who have been there a while now which is a shame :( think its due to the albino boy they don't get as much attention :(

Ooh, Marmite looks very pleased with himself...I'm glad it went well. When will you be able to make a decision? :))

They look so lovely together, has the bonding gone well?
:)

It doesn't look like it has to me, there's a post from twiams on a breeders forum looking for some baby pigs. I know we all have different "opinions" and "views", but sorry rescue piggies, no happily ever after for you this time :(

Thats it go ahead and judge me right away ... rolleyes
i don't really feel i should explain myself but just to keep you all happy so you know i've 'gone to the darkside' as you all seem to say.

This piggy went to a lovely new home yesterday. I wasn't able to take him home quick enough due to my current circumstances. Which just to add, my cats come out of an opperation and my mum has her foot in a cast and can't even get to the toilet by herself so a new piggy right now isn't something i could do i needed another week or so. My local rescue won't be taking on any more piggies for a little while as they're getting a puppy so it's unlikey there will be anything suitable soon.

I care more for Marmites welfare and getting him a friend than anything else.

Sorry if thats a crime.... 6)

Bonding went well, he was only there for an hour to see how it all went, but the rescue informed me he was going to someone else as they thought i'd changed my mind as i'd got a little caught up and not contacted them, which is a shame but it's a step forward as now i know Marmite isn't as aggressive as pets at home made out :x

You don't have to explain anything to anyone. I just think it's sad that for someone who considers themself "pro rescue", you are "willing to travel" to get a young pig from a breeder, but not a rescue? You're coming up to Bristol for a day out in August, it's not that far away and there's several reputable rescues in the area, all bursting at the seams with adult and baby pigs.

I've not gone against any forum rules, this is my private life you seem to be butting in to so i think it's time to just leave this be don't you ? rolleyes

ALSO how on earth did you find the post without going on that forum yourself ?

Who says I haven't been on that forum myself? It doesn't mean that I'm a breeder or have bought pigs from breeders, I'm quite happy with my "waster" pigs as they call them. It's just interesting to see who posts on that forum, and on this one.

Personally, I prefer to practise what I preach.

I'll leave you with this, in case you change your mind http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=209994852075231951564.0004b8fd9391b4257d8eb&msa=0
