We've had our two (around 12 week old) piggies outside on the grass for the first time last weekend and this weekend, just for an hour or so at first last weekend, and longer this time. They were outside at their usual veggie time today, so I gave them their veg in the run for the first time - and there it stayed untouched, which is very unlike them. Is that because they were eating grass instead? Is it possible for them to have too much grass? Is the grass a substitute for veg?

Hope you can help!

Grass won't substitute veg as it doesn't have the necessary vitamins. However mine wont eat veg if they are on grass. It's obviously nicer. Maybe feed them there veg a bit later once the grass has gone down and they aren't so full.

They are full from grass! Give them veg before or after.

Rich fresh spring and autumn grass has more nutrition than summer or winter grass or hay, so they will be generally a little bit less hungry.

Ok, thanks, I won't worry too much, this sounds quite normal! They had some carrot a short while ago, so I'm happy they've had what they need for today :).
