Too old for neutering?

Hi, just after a bit of advice, I have read that it wouldn’t be advisable to neuter after 2 years? I have a rescue that was approximately 2 when we got him so he will be nearing 3 soon. Has anyone had any experience with neutering later on? Thank you.

As a charity, we neuter all boars prior to rehoming and have neutered up to and including 5 years of age. We use a very experienced vet!

My Ted was neutered at 5 years old and he was absolutely fine. The key is to find a vet who has proven experience of guinea pig neutering

Good luck, it’s often the best bet for a single boar to find a new companion

Thank you. I have tried bonding him with a couple of males but doesn’t end well. I have a herd of females who I think would welcome him with open arms. He just loves a cuddle and deserves some company.

If you can find a good guinea savy vet I would go ahead!
