Tooth problems?

My skinny pig Birdie might be having tooth problems. I have her booked for Tuesday. I just switched to a new pellet this week as all of my pigs decided not to like the grain free anymore 🙄. Thess pellets are a lot bigger than what they were eating. I noticed late this week that Birdie and Zoey's dish of pellets looked wet. I didn't think much of it the first day. Birdie likes to shoot pee at poor Zoey, so I blew it off as maybe what happened. The second day I saw it, I knew it wasn't the case. I watched them eat to see who was getting the pellets wet. Birdie was having a hard time with the big pellets. She was dropping them. Pawing at her mouth. She has no problem eating veggies or hay. I am really confused. I also noticed her one eye a bit watery when she is eating. I am wondering if anyone with experience with dental issues can help me. Any idea what could be causing this? Elongated roots? Root abscess? Do dental problems usually only affect one side? She is such a good girl. Only a year old. I really don't want to lose her already. The vets around here are not optimistic about dental problems in guinea pigs.
 
Any chewing issues at all with veg such as coriander or parsley? Looking for manipulation issues here.

No. None. She seems to be eating hay fine. Although I never see her eat long strands. Just short pieces. Sometimes harder stalky bits. It's confusing. She is definitely dropping pellets. Even smaller ones. Definitely pawing at her mouth and making weird movements like she is trying to dislodge something. I just worry because I don't know of any vets who do a lot of guinea pig dentals. My vet will, but it isn't routine, so I worry that it may not be done right. I am just going to see how the appointment goes. Hopefully he can x-ray her skull. Her eye on the one side tears up sometimes when she chews too. Hopefully if he doesn't feel comfortable he can refer me to someone. Although with the coronavirus crap I am not sure how easy it will be to get an appointment.
 
I would suggest an X-ray for sure to check the roots. Sending you and her lots of love x
