My heart has been very heavy today, I could accept it if he was old or even if he had been ill but nothing, I had no signs whatsoever..... and its unfortunate that it happened at my sons birthday party, its his birthday today and its been incredibly difficult to be *normal* for him. Its so nice to know that you can all understand and relate to what I'm feeling. Thanks for your kind words

No probs nicky... I know it must be hard. I'm dreading 'that day' when my 2 go. :(

Honestly, I think I can speak for everyone when I say... we're all thinking of you. ;)

Aww Nicky
I feel awfull I am so sorry to hear about Milo. Thinking of you I really am. I have not been online due to reading the new Harry Potter book I have only just seen this :'( ((((((HUGE HUGS)))))) coming your way from me take care hunny Michelle

Nicky,
Youve made a rational 27yr old males eyes weep. I'm sorry for your loss. I have 5 gorgeous girls and I'm scared to death on how I'm going to react when I lose 1 of them :( I will definetly take a day off work cos this kinda stuff just hits me hard, always struggled with mortality and such so seeing such a bright, happy, squeeky little piggy pass on hits me hard...

All I could suggest is there ANY chance some of the kids night of got near the cage and really shocked the poor lil fella? if not then it could of been like you see in humans where people have rare heart defect are fine and then at some point in their 20s they just die. It happened to my cousins bf who was like 23 or 24, I was about 9 at the time and I couldnt get my head round it.

I hope you feel better now and have given all the others big hugs and kisses....

Stanny

Ive thought of everything that "could" have happened but I get no answers..... the children couldnt have done anything cause they were in the house and my OH needed 10 minutes to sort out pass the parcel so I suggested going to see the pigs and then found him..... After the kids left I took Lucky out and thoroughly cleaned and disinfected the hutch, all I found in the hutch was a slug which had climbed through the bars.... this horrible wet weather brings them out! There was no evidence of anything but I keep checking on Lucky every 10 minutes, I keep expecting to find him gone too.... I'm petrified of losing him and even mum and her new babies, I cant rest, I'm a nervous wreck!

Nicky,

I am sure nothing "caused" this.Piggies do have heart attacks right out of the blue.I have had it happen to me severala times. One minute the pig is fine, the next minute it has died.

There is nothing you could have done.

Please do not worry too much about your other piggies, heart attacks are not that common.
