towel fetish

All my floors are tile or wood. This does not seem to prevent Peanut Butter from zooming everywhere at floor time but Hazelnut will not move. I have to lay down a heap of old bath sheets and then he will walk only where there are towels (Hazelnut never runs except if frightened).

Yesterday was complete cage cleaning day so I popped both boys into the bathroom with towels all over the tile floor so H can walk around. This is my normal cage cleaning practice.

What was not normal was that I had left a bath towel hanging off the towel rail in such a manner that a part of it almost touched the floor. Next thing I know Hazelnut is an acrobat and starts trying to run up the towel like a cat runs up curtains!

I removed the towel off the railing and will be making sure that does not happen again as not safe!

Maybe Hazlenut does not like the coldness or the texture of the floor underneath him and that causes him not to move? I always put a towel on my floor when my girls run around. I think that it's just warmer for them as they have no fur on their feet.
