Towels and blankets

Could I put some blankets and towels in the hutch for the guinea-pigs to sleep in? I don't mean as bedding, just on top of their bedding to give them something to sleep in and make them a bit more comfortable. Or would they try and eat them?

In my experience piggies will 'pluck' towelling as the tufts seem to resemble grass. Blankets would be good, though. I find mine love fleece that has been folded over a couple of times to make it nice and squishy!

My piggies favourite thing is an old fleece jumper of mine. They tunnel up the arms and into the body of it and sleep there all snugly.
