I have a 3 x 2 c&c cage and I'm wondering... should i put extra paper under my fleece bedding or stick with towels. i have one pig so i don't care about the smell I just care about the absorbency. Latte's urine doesn't smell too bad so unless the paper smells really bad with urine on it I think smell isn't a problem.

I use towels, I remember reading one of the problems with using paper is that once wet it tends to break up and stick to the fleece and the plastic cage base, but if you only have one it might not be a issue, just though I would add, as it does work, a little baking powder sprinkled over your towels can help with any smells, I know you said you wasnt worried about smells, but I only have one and after a few days it did start to smell, if I sniffed for it.

I use incontinence bed pads, the washable ones, I get them from Amazon. They aren't cheap but you can wash them at 90 and they hold a LOT of urine before they start to smell.
They use them in care homes for the residents.

ok I had a look online and I can buy them from a supplier in oz on ebay which is great, how long do you leave them before you wash them?

Another thing to consider is Puppy Training Pads, the ones you use to house-train pups.

I used them between fleece and towels and swear by them! They're great and keep the smell down whilst holding lots of fluid :)
