Junior Guinea Pig
Hello. I am fairly young and new to piggie keeping. I was really wondering if my piggies were to be sick how I might and should transport them to my vet. And if I should try to find a exotic vet.

It’s best to find a vet who at least has experience of guineapigs even if they are not technically ‘exotic’ vets, as there may not be one around. I think guinealinx has an American Vets locator?
I use a large cat carrier for my three pigs for vet trips and travel.

I use a large plastic storage tub for vet trips.
I have a towel in the bottom and always provide hay and some veggies if we have to go to the vet.

If possible take a friend with your piggie when visiting the vet. This helps to recuce any stress if they have a companion with them. I transport mine to the vets in an old cat carrier with pee pads at the bottom and hay lots of hay on the top.
