yesterday was the worst day of my life.had a pig go into labour,3 dead babies then hit major problems herself.she started to bleed heavily and went floppyrushed her to my vets and they gave her iv fluids and antibiotics.they think as her uterus has gone back in its retracted in on itself.they said she was too weakt o do emergency surgery on ehr so got to see how she goes on.i spent all night with her and shes survived so far although not getting hpes up.shes gone off her back legs and hasnt eaten since yesterday.what can i do?shes done one teeny poo.shes nt bleeding now lke yesterday she just has like a browny blood?she really does look poorly and sorry for herself.shes such a lovely pig too

Oh my! How awful!

I'd syringe her some fluids - with some glucose or honey mixed in for an energy burst then syringe feed her some Critical Care. If you don't have CC, use GP nuggets softened with hot water and left to soak for 10 mins. Hopefully she'll tuck into the mash but if not you'll need to syringe it into her.

Has she been given any meds? Is this the same female that came into you with sores etc?

Poor girly :( was she over 8 months old - I heard from a friend that any piggie has trouble birthing over 8 months becuase the pelvis fuses.

I really hope she survives and rip babies that didnt make it, that is so sad :(

yeah shes the one.will soak some pellets now.havent a clue on her age.just want her make it.daughter has got attached to her.such a lovely friendly thing.how much do i syringe her?

By the sounds of it, she needs as much as you can get in to her. Do you have any soluble vitamin C tablets handy? I always keep kids soluble vit. C handy for illness, they're often orange flavoured and go down quite well.

Good luck to both of you!

Get about 5 ml of fluids into her while the nuggets are softening and then give her upto 20ml of feed if poss. When pigs are soley reliant on syringe feeding you need to aim for 120ml per day, 20-30ml per feed. You can add Vit C and probiotics to the mash to help give an extra boost.
