Teenage Guinea Pig
Came down this morning to find Ginny missing from the cage! Thought I was going mad, so got the husband to check as well......no Ginny.
We started hunting round the kitchen, me with images of dead guinea pig in my head (she must have dropped at least 2ft). I thought I was going to faint I was that shocked.
We started pulling storage boxes out from under the cage and I spotted her squashed between the wall and the cage. Phew at least she was alive, then I had images of rushing her to the vets with a broken leg or teeth.
We slowly pulled the cage out from the wall, which prompted her to start trotting up and down. Then I noticed her eating a bit of hay off the floor! Relief...she must be OK.
I finally managed to squeeze behind the cage and pick her up (whilst swearing at her). Checked her over, front teeth in tact and no sign of pain as I felt her all over.
Put her back in the cage with Luna, where she proceeded to run round chatting away no doubt telling her sister what an exciting adventure she'd had.
As I'm putting everything back in place she had the cheek to wheek for food.
I was shaking like a leaf for half an hour, puzzling how she got out.
Dashed down to Dunelm Mill to get some fabric to cover the cage and hopefully stop anymore escape attempts. So this is the cage now.

Nice silver see through roof. It's gonna be a pain at feeding and cleaning time, but I NEVER want to go through that again!
