I have been looking at various rescues centres online to find a guinea pig to pair with my one and was just wondering what people thought was the maximum travelling time for a guinea to travel in the car.
I am interested in a lovely guinea pig named honey but the centre is at least an hour and 15 minutes away and thought maybe this was too far?
I'm not having much luck finding another single female sow in my area.

thats dont sound far to me if you put the piggy in a sutible box with hay and maybe veg. Ive travelled piggies further and have never had any problem. At least at the end they have a fantastic home. thats how i see it anyway x

That's fine, sometimes if we go to a school a little further away, Rodney will spend that in his carrier.

Aslong as he is warm and comfy, he will be fine.

thanks...thats good then i will start making enquiries tommorow then! i just wasnt sure as when i brought Coco home she was terrified and that was not as far as this rescue.

Thanks for your replies that has put my mind at ease, I'm excited now as i will ring tommorow, i just hope she is still there!

My gang travel from Cornwall to Northumberland - around 600 miles over 2 days. No problem.

that distance is fine, i travelled that far for my Max.

As long as have decent accommodation, the piggie will be fine,.

good luck with it all! x
