Treacle has now been on antibiotics for 4 days. She has stopped eating and I am syringe feeding her with critical care and pro C. She takes it ok, thanks to your handy guide. She is very passive and is still making the same breathing noise that made us take her to the vets. Basically she is not showing any signs of improvement, how quickly should we expect her to pick up?

Id take her back to the vets. She may need a change in dosage or antibiotics. If she is suffering from mucousal congestion, you could ask your vet for some biosolvin to break it up (dont give anymore than a little pinch of biosolvin powder). They may want to rule out any fluid in there too, which would need a diuretic to clear it.

Hope the vet gives you more answers today x

Thankyou , we are taking her back in the morning, feeling rather hopeless but would like to try anything and everything before we give up. Can't bear to lose her....

Just wanted to say good luck in the morning.
It sounds like you are doing everything possible for Treacle, so fingers crossed she turns the corner very soon.

The vet doubled the dose of antibiotics and didn't think a diuretic would help as her chest is crackly. She is still the same no improvement or worsening, I wonder how much longer we should let her suffer....
