In a bit of a dilema, Treacle has to go for an X-ray tomorrow :( she has been having some bloat problems and problems pooing, so we need to see if something is going on.

Cookie and Treacle hate being apart, Cookie especially goes mad when Treacy is not around.. and Treac is very scared without her sister - So should I take them both? My only concern on this is at the moment Cookie is constantly trying to mount Treacle at the moment (this is also leading me to think that Treacle may have cysts and is giving off lots of hormones) and I am worried that when Treacle is coming round from the whiff of gas givenf or the x-ray that Cookie may be a little too boisterous?

Really torn on what to do, any input?

They usually have a good sense of knowing when their friends are poorly/not with it so i wouldn't worry about that, cookie may be a bit weary anyway being in a strange place, particularly the vets, so i would take them both.

Sorry to hear she needs to have an x-ray, sending loving vibes for you all x

Yeah i was hoping Cookie may be a little subdued... I am thinking it will be better to take them both, we never used to have this issue with Pitch & Putt as they were chilled girlies and took everything in their stride..

Thanks for the vibes x

Bring them together...
Tell the vet nurses your concerned about her being a bit rough... They will keep a close eye on things...
Got my fingers crossed for you...
x

When Lilly was ill, toffee and minnie cleaned him, stayed with him and also gave him space when he wanted it, Minnie let him lay in the cosey which she had claimed as hers and my god there was trouble if either of the other 2 even sniffed it before, but she let him lay in it, and toffee was going through a phase of mounting him just before he was ill, but it all calmed down and they just took care of him. Its weird how they know. xx

I would take them both if they're like that when they're apart.
Good luck at the vets hoping for a positive outcome for you both :)

Aww thanks everyone. You've made my mind up. Will sort them out a little packed lunch..

Oh I am sorry Treacle has to have an xray. I wish her the best of luck.

Good luck at the vets Treacle. Everything crossed for you here!

And I hope the Xray comes up with some definitive news for you, Lee and Rach

When Cameo was unwell, Jeff went with her (although she had an op and was there for a while, not just a day procedure) they went into a kennel and I put come c&c grids down the middle so they were together, but Jeff wasn't too OTT.

You could express your concerns and see if they have a kennel they can be in together, that's big enough for treacle to recover from her sedation in her travel cage inside the kennel with cookie near by?

Good luck Treacle! :)p

I'd take them both too. Good luck for tomorrow. xxxxxx

Aw, poor baby :(
Hope all goes well for Treacle, will be thinking of you all x>>
I'd take Cookie too - maybe in separate carriers, at least they'll be able to see and chat together but allow Treacle to rest alone.

Love and hugs to you :)

I would normally always take a companion pig but when Patrick went in for his Op, I got told not to bring Pebble's as Patrick would be groggy after the GA and the last thing he needed was Pebbles bouncing about. With hindsight this was the correct decision and it also makes it easier for the Vet Nurses to monitor the pig, there isn't any guessing on who's poop is who or who has ate what.

Patrick had to stay separated from Pebbles for 10 days but this was due to the surgery.

Can I have a packed lunch too? My slave (AKA the OH) is rubbish, he gave me a roll today, not sliced, no filling, a bare ROLL. Hmpf.

PS- what time is the appointment?

When my treacle was ill and had an operation smudge who is usually the more dominant and snaps at treacle when hes boisterous cleaned treacle up and took good care of him and even dragged some food into the igloo for him, with a quick nibble of it for himself so they do usually have a good sense of when each other are i'll

Good look in the Op treacle sending waves of healing and love from treacle and smudge :laluot_29:

When Bubbles had to go for an xray his friend Patches went along too, the vet said it was less stressful for them to have their familiar friends around them.

Good luck with the xray xx

Good luck to the very lovely Treacle, gentle healing hugs from me and Misty xoxoxoxoxoxo
I know when Storm had to go in, she was much happier with Rogue and Misty there too.
I have Ofsted tomorrow (eeeekkk!), a nasty day all round! x

Paws crossed for Treacle.

Hamish always has company when he goes for vet trips. Makes it much less scary and packed lunches always go down well!

Hugs. x

When I take any of mine for a stay at the vets, I pretty much take everything but the kitchen sink! Fave snuggle bed...check! dish-full of Readigrass...check! Dish-full of pellets...check! Little bag of favourite hay...check! Tupperware box of chopped veggies...check!

I honestly don't care if the vet or the nurses think I'm a loony, as long as my babies are happy! LOL! rolleyes

Hope all goes well for Treacle today x
