Treasure came to me a while ago at around 10 weeks old. She had been living in a cage with her dad and two litter brothers. She was less than half the size of her brothers, and pregnant. Treasure is a special little guinea pig, she is blind as she has no little eyes. This has not caused her any problems and she has had the nickname 'Whistler' She can do a continuous whistle of about 10 seconds! Tonight around 8.30pm Treasure gave birth to one big 133g baby. The baby was out of the sack when I went in, but Treasure just seemed traumatised by the whole thing, and was scared to go near the baby. She flew terrified round the cage when she touched the little one. After good advice from my forum midwife and midhusband rolleyes I moved Treasure and Baby Bee (you will understand the name when you see the photo) into a carrier, cut Bee's cord and after about 45 mins of me keeping putting Bee to Mum, Treasure suddenly realised she had a baby, and it was just a joy to watch mum cleaning, baby trying to suckle, and both chattering away. I have moved them back into a cage, and they both galloped around popcorning. Just given birth, and four hours old...popcorning - amazing. I am just praying now that Baby Bee is a little girl, then Treasure will have a lifelong pal. Photos were taken on my phone so not the best, but hope you enjoy.xx

Jane that is truly amazing and yet beautiful x). I'm so happy for Treasure and Baby Bee fingers crossed she is a girly! xx

Oh my giddy lord Jane. Look at Treasure, how big is she now x)

Her baby is just like mummy, beautiful & i too hope Baby Bee is a little girl, it'd be perfect for them both. I do so love Treasure & am loving BB's lil dot x)

How sad Treasure can't see how absolutely beautiful her baby is, I'm sure she can feel it though. x

AWWW - poor Treasure! Having such a huge baby must have been very traumatising indeed, especially as she couldn't see what was going on!

Fingers crossed that gorgeous Big Bee is a girl!

They are both so lovely, well done Treasure, and a very big welcome to the world for Baby Bee.x>>x>>

Oh what a lovely story, both are beautiful. I really hope Baby Bee turns out to be a girl.

Wow Jane what a truly amazing story and truly amazing little sweethearts. Both of them are just too sweet.

Was Treasure born without eyes?

I am also hoping and praying little bee is a girl and she has her pal for life there. Well done for taking such special care of her.

xx

Everything crossed here that Baby Bee is a girl so they can stay together!

What a lovely story! :))

Yes, Little Treasure was born with no eyes. If Bee turns out to be Mr. Bumble, lol, then I do have another pregnant sow here due any day, so maybe she will have a little girl for Treasure. Not sure about rehoming yet, we have to make a decision on her, but it would be a very special experienced home if I do let her go. xx

What a lovely story, I hope they both go from strength to strength x

Such a lovely story, and a wonderful addition to Treasure's family, both gorgeous little piggies!

Oh bless little Treasure, what a good girl, I'm so glad she's taken to the baby now - and what a gorgeous baby too - praying it's a girl here! :)

So glad she gave birth safely
