Hi I know every vet is different but poppy has now come down with a uri and my vet bill seemed really steep how much did your vet charge for trearment for a uri

I recently took all 4 of my piggies to the vet, although only 1 had a URI, but the vet checked them all over and precribed enough baytril for 3 days for the 3 uneffected (just as a precaution as it can be transmitted) and a week for the 1 with the URI and the whole bill came to £24.00-something.

What was precibed?

Maggie has a URI at the moment. £32 for the consultation, and about £10 for medication, although I added stuff to that like critical care and probiotics so it came to about £65 in total.

My pig had a suspected URI and it cost me about £60 in treatment and then we found out it wasn't a URI and they don't have a clue what it was/is but that was for a consultation, a pain killer, critical care, pro biotic and baytril rolleyes vets bills really differ from place to place i've been to one where a consultation is about £20 with no treatment and i've been to another where it's only £8 but the more you pay the better service you'll get as i've also worked in a cheaper vets and a more expensive vets and although from the front you can't always tell behind the scenes you can (:

It's a high fibre, powdered food that you mix with water to, usually given to pigs via syringe when they're not eating properly for themselves, but I've been mixing their probiotics in with it, and they've been eating it out of a bowl (they seem to think it's some kind of treat :)))

Aww poppy is still eating just abit wheezy and sneezy we caught it very early on luckily
