can guinea pigs eat raisins/currants.and can they have cornflakes etc?i want to get something they dont usually eat so i can hand feed them treats to get them more used to us.any suggestions welcome!

Best thing, is pieces of their favourite veg.
Worked for me.
Good luck. :)

They can have 1 or 2 Raisins but personally I wouldn't they are only small and pose a hazard for choking.

Cornflakes no they can't. If they don't have it in the wild then they don't have it at all thats my motto.

Maybe offer a treat in the form of fruit. I've a few pigs that like Cantaloupe melon. :)

i wouldn't feed raisins personally, they are quite suggary and as S&T said they are a choking hazard.
No they can't have cornflakes, bad for them O0 i give special veggies and also natural herbages, like they'd have in the wild O0
pampered piggies have a good selection O0 http://www.pamperedpiggies.co.uk/page.asp?module=shopCategories&clientID=11
I can recommend the piggy's packed lunch and mixed herbage bag, also mine love herbs plus, by the naturals range O0 these have all natural ingredients O0 i also like to give special hays as treats, PP have a good selection too, mine love the oat hay and the meadow mountain hay :smitten:

yeah PP stuff and the 'naturals' range don't have any sugar or anything in. i'm afraid when it comes to treats, you have to be a label reader ;D you wouldn't beleive what they put in some! honey, sugar, yoghurt! and milky stuff. piggies are lactose intollerant! 98) :tickedoff: anyway as long as it's all natural you'll be fine, but do remember to read the label ;D

Parsely is a treat in my house good grieve they bloody love it but only get it twice a week now x

for a treat mine get a little piece of fruit, leaf of spinach or something from pampered piggies :)
