COVID-19 Tribute to a member of my team

Had a phone call from my boss to let me know that our much loved and respected matron has passed away from the virus. I have worked in the nhs since 1979. Met lots of amazing inspirational people who have touched my life. Our matron was one of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met. She would not hesitate to muck in and take patients to the toilet etc, supported us all and made us feel valued. Our team is devastated. Please heed the hygiene and distancing advice . Our ward will never be the same without her. Please help to get this virus under control and save lives.
 
I am so sorry for you and all of your colleagues - I can not begin to imagine how hard this whole situation must already be without the loss of a dear friend and co-worker. :hug:

It is so sad that we have to lose anyone special, but in particular at the moment, those such as your colleague that have been so devoted to their calling.

I am so sorry to read about your respected Matron. It is such a shame. I do hope that this virus will change the country's perception of the NHS and all the people employed within the NHS who show such bravery and commitment in such a difficult situation. It should never be taken for granted.

Thank you. I hope it changes our perception of everyone and everything. My grandad used to say we are all the same we come into this world the same and leave it the same. Let’s hope we become less judgemental and more caring towards our people and planet
 
I am so very sorry for your loss, and deeply sorry for this amazing persons family and friends.

You all as care givers are the best of people, thank you so much for being there for people when they need it and risking so much for us.

I’m so sorry you lost your Matron, she sounded like wonderful example of our NHS, so caring and willing to risk her own life to help others. I have had sad news of two people who have died today who were close to family members and it certainly brings home the horror of this virus, stay safe x
 
That is so sad. I'm so sorry. Losing her life after looking after so many others for so many years. Such a huge loss to the world 😔. I just want to hug you x
