Is there a specific way to cut nails that curve to the side and under the foot to help them grow normally? Gustav has curly nails and I sometimes have to maneuver his feet in awkward positions just so I can trim as much of his nails the best I can. It is uncomfortable for him at times since he chatters away at me which is his way of telling me to be quick since it doesn't feel too good.

Curly nails are awkward to trim, take a little of and often, try using food to keep him still

I'd agree with Lee, little and often. I have found that curly nails is either the result of previous owners not trimming enough and allowed to grow to long or age, they can be difficult to trim. Take a little cut each week.

I have trouble with my hands and being able to grip and clip so nail trims are a nightmare time.

The small pet nail clippers are great for regular nails but I find them too bulky for curly nails. I use regular human nail clippers for the curly ones, so I don't nip their skin.

I used to hate nail clipping time but got used to it in the end. As Sport Billy says I clipped a tiny bit at a time once a month and thought that was safer for me to do it that way. Ruby's used to curl at the front. In summer I used to distract them by sitting them on my knee on the grass and giving them some they seemed to not realise what I was doing x

His living conditions in his pervious home were less than desirable.
