Does anyone use clippers on their long haired pigs? I was thinking of purchasing a pair of quiet clippers to do my three long haired pigs nether regions - and possibly shorten their hair for the summer. Can anyone recommend a decent pair of clippers?
Thanks

I clipped Bacon’s fur not that long ago (he isn’t a sheltie or anything, just has longer hair especially at his bum!) and I just used scissors, so I don’t know about clippers, here’s a before and after 10914A5C-A7CE-4238-AA18-B2217C3E9356.webp7E3A1A9E-AE3C-423C-97C8-75419DA81BE8.webp

Thanks Sophie, I too trim mine with the scissors but I have seen someone clip them on YouTube and it seemed a lot quicker and definitely neater! I have one who has long bum hair like yours but I also have two fully long haired pigs that need doing all the way round.

I would not trust myself using clippers on my Granville in case I knicked him. He sits quite happily whilst I trim his hair as I have been cutting it now for over 3 years.

I got a £20 pair of clippers on amazon a couple of years ago, they're designed for dog faces so they're a little smaller and much quieter than regular clippers and they've done really well. I tried finding the link for them but they're not available anymore apparently, but there's plenty similar. I think ive only charged it about 3 times in the time ive had it! I used to try to keep back ends short with scissors but it resulted in much kicking, spinning and screaming.. having the clippers made a half hour ordeal into a 5 minute job. Luckily the 2 longhaired piggies I have now don't seem to mind scissors but I do plan on getting a new pair of clippers for them. I only dont use the ones I have because they were used on a piggy with E.cuniculi and ive no idea how id go about cleaning them well enough to not risk passing that to the new ones.

I know what you mean - one of mine is particularly ‘kicky’ so I’d have to watch her. None of them like being trimmed with scissors either so I thought I’d give the clippers a go. Even if it helps a bit it’ll be better!

I’ve seen some on amazon with a lot of good reviews for dog faces, paws etc for about £20 so I might go for some of those. I’m not sure about cleaning your clippers either, though I’ve read a good disinfectant should sort it out.
