Poor little Athena is not doing well. She seems to be having trouble breathing. It's like she is panting all the time. Her weight is down quite a bit. Her eyes are receded.

We are going to the vet on Monday as the symptoms really just manifested themselves on Friday night.

I'm just pretty worried. Athena is an old piggy and I think that her body has been shutting down for a while now.

I really hope shes ok. I would get her to a vet asap as breathing like you descibe is pretty serious. Receeded eyes, usually described of as sunken eyes in the veterinary world is a sign of serious dehydration, is she eating/drinking at all? You need to keep her warm and keep her food/fluids up. Piggies can go downhill pretty quick, not to scare you. I really hope she does ok.

Lots of love sent her way from my gang.

x.

She does seem to have gone down hill since yesterday. Her eye (it's only one of them) is more sunken. Though I saw her eating a little bit of veg this morning she seems to have nearly stopped eating her soft poops. She is also shedding substantial amounts of hair.

I've been syringing her water and will probably syringe her food today too.

I'm planning on calling the vet first thing tomorrow morning as they don't allow you to leave messages. I'm worried that by that time there won't be much he can do (if he even could have done anything in the first place).

I'm doing my best to give her lots of cuddles and make sure that she knows that she is loved.
