Hi @Wiebke hoping for your advice...
I have group of 8 sows, various ages, they have been together as one herd for 6 weeks with no issues.
Dominant sow made herself know to the group very early on but 3 other sows have had their eye on second place. They have a 8 foot by 5 foot enclosure with additional space on second level.
Today one was attacked and has had her ear torn. They been out on the grass now for a good few hours with no issues today.
My concern is I go away tomorrow for a few days and won’t be here to watch them all the time ( I have a pet sitter who comes in a few times a day).
I have the option to split the enclosure and split the group. But I guess if I do this now, there is no going back to one big group?
Any advice please?
Thanks

Is your cage a c&c because if it is you could put a dividing wall between the groups so they can interact and still "be with" each other whilst you're away but reduces risks of fights

Has anyone else had trouble in a herd that passed extremely quickly? There have been no issues since this happened, they are all fine and no swabbing at all. It’s very strange, I wonder if there was a fight for second place and now it’s all sorted. But I feel awful for poor Mabel ear :(
