My Foster father was called Joe but with me having a Jo (Joanna) I've decided to use his middle name and rename Troy, Kawada, -He had an Japanese mother and an English father hence the foreign name.

Kawada was also my foster grandmother, Joe's mum's maiden name, she was lovely even if she did ruin Chinese take outs for me with her amazing home cooking! :))

A few people asked why I didn't save the name for my children, which I would have loved to have done but I can't have children - well my guineas are my children and I feel that Joe would have loved it as he adored my little wheeky machines as he called them :)) He loves to crinkle a crisp packet and make them wheek before he'd give them treats, said they were making music :))

I'm making myself cry so I'm going to stop now.

So to you I introduce the newly named Kawada

What a beautiful name. There cant be many piggies on the forum whose names have been chosen with such sentiment and thought. Just lovely..

That is a lovely way to name a pig and i am sorry you can't have children

I'm lucky in the respect I'm not very good with children and wasn't sure I really wanted any of my own and my other half doesn't really want any either so it wasn't heartbreaking for me like it would be for others. I'm glad that I can't have children in the place of someone who wants them and would make an amazing mother :)

What a lovely gesture and what a great name!

My piggies are my babies as well, as I'm in the same boat as you. Thankfully, I and my husband are feeling the same about it as you.

Welcome Kawada! :))

Oh Kira what a lovely name & a lovely tribute to your foster dad & grandma :)

I'm in the boat with you & Wiebke too; i have my fur-kids & no human kids :)

That's so lovely.

Such care and love in his name. He's one very lucky little guy.

Guineas are better than human children in a way.
They can never leave home. Even when they grow up, they're still little babies...Oh! And they can NEVER leave home!

:))

I'm sure Joe would be honoured to know little Kawada has been given such a special, honorary name. It's a beautiful tribute.

I was feeling a bit upset and was cuddling Kawada and was a bit tearful and he was sniffing at my face and licked a tear! I swear he was telling me not to cry

Ohaio gozaimasu, Gawada-san!

That's the limit of my Japanese, so I can't say how gorgeous he is, except in English. And he is.
