Out of all the toys and forms of enrichment, I think deep hay is the thing that gets them moving the most while in their cages, they just can't zoom in it that easily thoughHay nests are the best

Mine are hay diving less than when they were younger.
But they make holes in it for sleeping.

Polo puts hay on himself when the morning sun is shining on his cage
He and Truffle both poo in their hay and Truffle gets quite indignant when I take his poops away at cleaning time He kicks sprays of woodshavings into the air and onto the carpet for me to clean up

That's better that my Rainbow hamster Antisocial Archie. He threw his poops out of the cage and onto the carpet for me to clear up. I've heard a tiny bit of breathing noise, but it was over before I could record it on my phone. Polo made some really quiet whiny breathing and then gave a big cough, which brought the sounds to an end. He still puffs himself up at times, but the really bad wheezing doesn't seem to be happening at the moment
