Truffle and Polo

Dearest Polo, There you are nestled on that comfy pillow dreaming of me as the moonlight caresses your handsome face. I received those hugs you sent to me as I drifted off to snooze in my cuddle sack and smiled as I thought of you,

Mabel, with the moon on our side, we cannot lose πŸŒπŸ˜˜πŸ˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜β™₯️🌹🐾πŸ₯° I'm glad your cuddle cup is cosy and snug. The breeze brings me the sweet scent of your fur and the stars ring with the sound of your happy wheeking 🐾🌹β™₯οΈπŸ‘‘πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸŒ πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

I have been running the air purifier practically all day and in the evenings. And Polo's wheezing has stopped (touch wood). It was really bad and we went to the vet. No chest sounds. The vet asked if there was anything in the environment. I forgot or was too embarrassed to say I have to clean mould off one wall where there are cracks. I left the purifier on all day and in the evening there was a noticeable difference in Polo's wheezing. At the moment, he has been quiet all day. Not a single wheeze πŸ™β€οΈ It is a huge relief as it was sounding awful, poor piggy. One cloud on the horizon remains though, he has a second small lump on his right nipple, still very small. The two lumps have appeared over the past five months. We are off to see a specialist exotic vet soon. The lumps seem still too small to sample, but of course I don't want them to get any bigger. One has a bit of blue colouring which might not be good πŸ™ Truffle has lost about 50g of weight and I can feel his little shoulder blades where previously there was a nice layer of fat πŸ™ So we will need to see his usual vet soon. He eats enthusiastically, demanding mini cucumbers and salads as eagerly as ever. I don't really know the ages of my pigs, I can only guess somewhere between four and five perhaps. It's great that the weather isn't hot now (although hurricanes are on there way all winter except when we plummet to minus 20 πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰)

Sorry to hear about Polo’s lumps but that’s fab his wheezing has stopped. It’s sounding positive for Truffle if he’s acting his normal piggy self. Wishing you easier days ahead πŸ™πŸ»

Sorry to hear your news, glad your boys had a better day yesterday. Sending lots of positive vibes. 🩡

Well, I took the pot plants out of my window box and scooped up the gravel and soil mixture from the window box. I've cleaned the gravel and have it in a plastic bag. The plants are marigolds, sunflowers, pelargoniums and a lavender plant I grew from a small cutting I picked up in the street after the owner had been cutting back his lavender. It has been full of flowers and bees all summer πŸͺ» There is still a bit of silt I need to try to sponge up somehow. I will have to contain the pots so the potting soil doesn't leak from them. At the moment it should be much easier to get water out of the window box. At the end of the growing season, I can cut down the number of pots and try to find containers which don't have drainage holes. They dry out quickly enough in the sun and wind. Quite a messy job but rewarding πŸ‘ This should help to reduce the damp in the walls, but it is still bad πŸ™

I’m sorry both of your piggies are worrying you at the moment. Good luck at the vets. I hope the lumps are just fatty lumps. And I hope the weight loss is just age related 🀞🏻

Do you rent?

If so, have you talked to your landlord?
Yes to both 🏑 I reported it in early summer 🌞 I am not looking forward to having the work done πŸ™ No date so far. I think it might need to wait for next summer. This past summer would have been a good time for repairs to damp walls πŸ™

I am sorry that you are having all these problems with damp and health problems with both piggies as well. Sending support to you and healing vibes to the piggies πŸ’š
