Truffle and Polo

Pino had the same look on the first morning. :D

Today, I only had morning meds for the girls but I'm still so used to have meds for all of them that I picked up Pino before I realized that I don't have to give him anything in the morning (he still gets Vitamin C and Rodicare Pulmo in the evening). So I just gave him a quick cuddle and put him back.

Perhaps he needs a different antibiotic? When Zebedee 🌈 had a URI that didn't respond fully to repeated Baytril and Septrin, a specialist vet suggested he needed a different one - Zithromax in his case. It worked, and as he had quite frequent infections after that i think he was carrying a particular bug which responded best to a different antibiotic

Sorry to hear that Polo is wheezing and coughing again.
Look after yourself too as caring for a sick piggy can be very draining

Is it something other than doxy?
 
The banana flavoured antibiotic got swatted just as I was pressing the plunger and a big blob flew through the air and landed on my pyjama trousers. There was a tiny bit left so we did more or less the same thing a second time 🙁 but I think Polo will have had some antibx once he has cleaned it off his whiskers. I might try keeping veg back for meds time as the medication can be applied to veggies and fed by hand. Well, we will try a drop in case we have to go back to the syringe. It's co-trimoxazole.

All of the 0.5ml of co trimoxazole with a bit of sugar water and sugar frosting went down very securely. The sugar water and frosting did nothing to help apart from give MS's pyjamas a few patches of sugar frosting. The syringe has bite marks all over it, but eventually I got it into his mouth, poor boy 😛 The lovely banana flavour which smells so nice to me doesn't work for Polo 🤒 He was wheezing at 2am. I put on the air purifier and opened some windows and that may have helped a bit. But first thing this morning we did the meds. Hopefully if we keep having success getting the trimoxy down the awful wheezing will stop 🙏❤️

Bandit also hates co-trimoxazole. Just a whiff of the sticky banana stuff when Minx was on it would send her running for cover 🙁
