Truffle and Polo

I trap thin sheets in the top of the windows.
So sheet outside- tiny bit inside. Not a great explanation. Will take a photo later.

It’s not especially good for the frames- but means they stay on outside & help keep us cool.
I don’t miss London in this weather. Thinking of you.

Thank you. Yes, that makes sense. I have strange prefabricated style windows with arms attached to the top of the window which stops the sheet from fitting squarely in the window. They aren't well designed 🙁 Yes, London's pollution makes everything unpleasant in hot weather 😮‍💨
 
Mabel wishes she could share the cooling unit with Polo. She says slave closed the curtains but it hasn't helped that much so slave put ice packs inside socks and wants all piggies to know that she ran to the other side of her home as they looked scary :yikes:
 
Mabel, I will protect you from those scary socks. Tell them to behave or I will sort them out 🤨 My slave taped newspaper to the outside of the window to act as an improvised shutter, but the tape wasn't strong enough and it blew away. I'm looking forward to the end of the heat wave 😮‍💨 📰🐾
 
I’ve lined my curtains with a blackout lining that does keep the heat out in the Summer and the heat in during the Winter - I have a set of french doors where the piggies are.
I used some savings to put in an AC unit a couple of years ago and it’s great.

Yes, they are about £400 and give peace of mind. The blackout curtains are excellent. I need to find out if I can get a curtain rod installed. Where did you buy the blackout lining?
 
We can always retreat to the kitchen where the floor is nice and cool 🥰

Any fabric shop has it but I bought it by the metre off Amazon

Apparently the car window shades aren't advisable for double glazing, so I can't deploy them on my flat windows 🙁 or the newspaper 🗞️
