Truffle And Toffee - A Year On

On Thursday it will be a year since Truffle and her daughter Toffee joined Mabel's herd after we were all devastated at losing Phoebe and her beloved Barney within a few weeks of each other. Mabel and Emma went dating at Hazelcroft Rescue for a few days and when they came home it was like they had always been together. A year on and Toffee has turned into such a big character, she is much braver than her mum and is always playing with Emma who enjoys having a younger pig about. (Mabel is almost 5 and likes to sleep a lot). Truffle is still a very nervous little pig but is so so much braver than she used to be, and will now come out and look at me to take her nightly digestive vitamin. She is also very good at putting Toffee in her place when she gets a bit much. We are hoping over the next few weeks to bond Barley with the girls, they have already met a few times and Truffle loves him. Emma is taking a while to decide though as she doesn't take kindly to having her head humped.

Here are a few photos, not that recent (and am sure I have posted them before), as they are difficult to get photos of usually (tend to dart and hide) .

Lovely photos of beautiful piggies. The newspaper under the hay is another tip I shall try - it's great seeing other people's cages!

It needs changing quite regularly but does contain it a bit more, not all the time though.
