Hi I wanted to know what you all thought. My sister got a guniea pig the same time I did and from the same place she is really down hearted with her guniea pig I dont think she likes him at all even said about me having him. they are all quite flighty and not very tame. But with my girls I have thought they where not from a very good pet shop and we must look very big to them so I am not surprissed they dont trust us and are a little flighty I would be if I was them. I think it's going to take time to build trust which is something to me I am willing to work on and wait for my sister however wants her piggy to trust her and stay still in his cage for her to pick him up. but surly EVERYONE should understand it takes time to get a pets trust but once earnt it's worth it?

You're absolutely right. Guinea pigs are a prey animal and if not aware of what's going on around them they'll be eaten! These natural instincts are in domestic guinea pigs as well. You have to gain their trust. They will get used to you providing them with food and cuddles, eventually come running out to greet you. All this takes time and patience. x

Guinea Pigs, Can take so much time and patience but when they trust you. They are fabulous creatures.

It's so worth it. I have been very fortunate to get such trusting pigs, my only pig that didn't come from rescue is alot more flighty, everyone else loves humans. Afterall we do feed them rolleyes!
