I've had the pleasure of over 70 piggies in my time and had never given them orange or lime. Then I saw (possibly on here, not sure, memory going) them on a list of good foods so tried - am amazed! They were both devoured! Am really pleased as they are both high in natural Vit C and cheap too!

I keep looking in the supermarkets for the new "broccoflower" vegetable but so far have not found it but will try when I do.

What fruit or veggies have surprised others either cos they're loved or hated?

I thought mine would love cabbage but they won't eat it. Ditto sprouts ::)

But they love to share a satsuma!

Have you tried spring greens? mine are a bit fussy with cabbage, they won't eat it if it's light green, but love dark green ;D ;D

I haven't tried spring greens - they tend to get what the rest of us eat, and none of us like those ::) They love spinach though, I've got a bag of that this week, most of it for a lovely curry and the rest for the piggies!

try spring greens and a cos lettuce!

they will go as soon as you leave the room and go back in!

I had one who loved orange and another one who would only eat the peel. I found out they liked it by accident when they mugged me for it ;D

Saw people giving bananas to their pigs so gave some to mine. Only one nibbled a bit. Left the banana in there and it was all gone when i came back a bit later!

Wish mine would eat banana - I love them but hubby doesn't so they go off before I get the chance to eat them all! ::)

Mine aren't keen on banana but that's OK because my 4 year old daughter is addicted to them :)

Try them with the skins , most of mine will only eat the skin of an under ripe bannana,ie still has a tinge of green in it

isnt broccoflower the head on a brocolli?..or am i missing something thats new to the market ? ;D

eggplant is on the unsure list of whether they can.. so i wouldnt feed them if i were you.

No the heads are called florets (same for cauliflower). Broccoflower is a new vegetable that's a hybrid of broccoli and cauliflower! ;D It looks really weird - green spiky bobbly things! ;D Believe me you'd know if you'd seen it in the shops!

Mine eat everything going veggie wise and have a huge selection all the time :)

Yeah I've had that purple one myself - yummy! My piggy wont touch cauliflower though - only the leaves (which I now purloin from the supermarkets!)

I have only just discovered that you can give guineas orange. Out of 11 only 5 will eat it. The others turn their noses up and my latest addition Zebedee who is still a baby wheeks at it and runs away!

One of my older piggies helped himself to my orange the other day, he wont usually touch it

mine wont eat any fruit, they will nibble on banana and melon but not much. i was surprised when they ate their sprouts though :)

mine adore cucumber and gala melon (the bright yellow one right?)

and Cos lettuce, and fresh greens too

Mine hated sprouts and oranges!

They quite like banana though, but will only eat it if I am not looking. 98)

I have just put broccoli in the cages for the first time.....
