My god that is impressive! Right I am setting myself out with all this, I am amazed! Thank you so so much for all this advice it's really helped make up my mind as I was worried about the smell in my tiny flat. Wait til you see pix of my baby boys, I swear they're the cutest that ever lived! Haha

Couple more mallethead

The cage I plan to use doesn't have a stand - I assume it isn't recommended to keep it on the floor for draughts? I also have no choice but for them to be near both my front door and a window because of how tiny my living room is & the lay out etc. I don't consider my flat to be draughty - but is this a gigantic problem? I have a storage heater, not central heating so not sure if that will have any effect...

?!

hi i would take your OH with you as I'm allergic to cats and my 2 rex piggies (not sure if its conected) but as they're mine i live it, it rather have them and suffer, so best to take him and see how he gets on with them. good luck

i too am allergic to cats hugely, and was allergic to my rex for about 3 years...but....for about 6 months before he passed we were fine?! ehhhh? lol!

When you say allergic - what exactly happened? Are we just talking itchy nose etc? Cos if he didn't actually touch them I'm wondering if he'd be ok to sit in the room with them?! I don't have the option of moving them anywhere else altho I could put them in my hallway overnight while he was here...!

my boyfriend get's irritated by all of my animals, but he absolutely adores the piggies. the hay also bothers him. if your boyfriend only visits you, go for it. as long as he's not deathly allergic, most people can stomach the irritation :p

so basically, he can probably suffer through it with a smile as long as he likes piggles :))

Could I store hay in my airing cupboard? It's not exactly hot in there... And do they have to have hay or can they just have redigrass? Possibly a very stupid question sorry!

I wouldn't recommend only feeding readigrass as I believe it has a high calcium content. I store my hay in one of those trugs that you can pick up in £stretcher/InStore.

They need the long strands of hay for helping wear their teeth as well.

Can someone post pix of the fleece etc set up? Don't think I understand! And can you only use that with adults? Mine would be babies... ?!
This is mine

And theses are the cage liner's i made for my sister

They are sewn to mattress topper's which absorb the wee and dry out stopping the smell, they last a week without smelling you have to sweep poo's up everyday tho

Wow that looks amazing! I love the levels & you even do the ramps! Amazing. I've washed my fleece & have 2 towels at the ready, kitted them out today with food bedding etc. Just need the pigs now!rolleyes
