the only thing that spoils it a teeny weeny bit is the sad piccies of mummy posted earlier, poor darling, what she must have been through...

8...

Oh lovely! I am so pleased to hear you are getting a hamster. I cannot wait to see the photos.

Mommy hamster is fine, I will take some more photos of her tomorrow.

Here fur is starting to grow back now, she is a very happy hamster, and I'm sure she wouldn't want people worrying about her.

yep it does but she is getting better now.

The only person that should feel bad is the person that had them originally.

I am now £30.00 lighter in my account since someone posted about hammy stuff on Equinecaninefeline!

oops!

sleeep? whatever lol

Had a lovely play with Joyce this morning, hardly see her these days so i made the most of it, but the little tried the great escape whilst my back was turned he he he dudette!

It's taking every ounce of willpower not to set his cage up until Thursday night :)) Booootiful little hammypop xoxoxoxoxoxo

Glad she's doing ok, thanks to your hard work!

Oooh what did you buy?! Guess what....my hamster heaven arrived today :)) !! It's HUGE!!! Lucky Rubix, mums going to kill me in August when she has to get these cages in her car :)) (she's on pet duty whilst i'm away)

dont tell Johnny, hes only got a Cambridge until i can convince his grandad to build him a big one like Joyces!

I've been saving cardboard tubes. He's not even here and I'm already his slave :red
When my lovely student loan comes through he's getting a cage extension and a wooden wheel because I like them better.

A student loan or a wooden wheel :)) I'm not sure why I like them better they just seem nicer somehow.

i got Joyce a really big wheel, but she wouldnt blimmin use it, had to get a smaller one!

pfffft girls!

Aww, he'll love it whatever! Plus they are only small at the moment anyhow so it'll be fine! Just think how fantastic he will think his new home is when his grandad builds it!

Aww, what a lucky boy Horatio is having you as his slave! I've just spent the last hour putting together my hamster heaven, it's fab! Love all the little hidey places dotted around but will need to sort out the ramps as they are way too steep! It annoys me that Savic would think those ramps are ok, especially as the cage is so blooming expensive?! mallethead

Loads of room though and plenty of room to put new things in! It's all ready and waiting now, had to ditch the tv in my room so that I could move my stereo onto one chest of drawers to clear another for his cage :)) it's so big it didn't fit on the original set of drawers! He's already taking priority - I mean getting rid of a TV so that you can have a hammy, bit mad isn't it?! Errrm nooooo! I'd rather watch him mooching about! Had to get rid of the dvd player too :))

Going to pet shop tomorrow after work to get food/sawdust etc and to look for some fun things! (They don't sell animals :) )

I can't decide where to put him! Both lizards are in the kitchen so that's out, my bedroom is off limits as I'm a light sleeper... Maybe I can clear a shelf off my living room bookcase and put him there.
But yes you'd think Savic would put a decent ramp in.
Who needs a tv when you can hamster watch x)x)x)

:)) he will live in my bedroom but will have to be moved in and out each day as i'm a light sleeper too, might be a bit of a pain but there's no where in my tiny front room what with the 6x2 C&C that takes up half the room :p we only live in a small 1 bed flat rolleyes wish we could have a bigger place but we already pay through the roof to live here - blimming London!

Book shelf could work, is it deep enough to fit the cage?

It's not got a back to it so it should be fine. The shelves not the cage :))
I'm not sure I could afford to live in London. I do like Bolton though even if my landlord is a cheapskate and wont fix things mallethead

aww bless you girlies.

I'm debating megazorb and sawdust/woodshavings, what you think?

See, I'm having this problem. Sawdust at first as I've got a big bag to get through but megazorb is appealing.... or finacard, which I've never tried before.

Huum, i've only ever used woodshavings....(which I always call sawdust mallethead) would like to try out some different stuff though but i'm not sure how easily i'd find it in London and having parcels arrive is always a bit of pain as i'm never in and then have to get up at the crack of dawn at the weekend to pick up my parcels...getting the piggies hay always turns out to be a nightmare hence why I now buy HUGE bags so it lasts forever, it's currently also stashed in my bedroom making a mess everywhere mallethead, gives the OH something else to complain about :))

oh blimey rolleyes

megazorb is good but I'm not sure if they prefer wood shaves, ill ask him when he gets here

I was born in London and left when I was 7, then moved to Kent. I hated London and loved living in the countryside and having a beach, it was amazing and much better for children. I left when I was 18 though as I wanted to experience city life again so moved to Bristol to do my degree, lived there for 4 years and then moved to Brighton to do another degree mallethead then I decided to come back here! I do love it but then at other times it does annoy me, it is ridiculously expensive and the London weighting that you get through your pay doesn't even touch the sides...it's shame because it's driving people out or putting people off living here when there are so many opportunities. Everywhere else in the country seems boring once you live here, that's the only problem as you never want to leave!

Thing is I do think i'm a country bumpkin at heart, i'll enjoy living here whilst i'm young but I don't think i'll stay for good, wouldn't want to have a family here. Although I love working in a busy London hospital and would miss the diversity if I left....sorry, bit of a life story there! :))

looking forward to his response! Maybe him, Rubix and Horatio can have a chat amongst themselves before they arrive with a small list of things they'd like in their new homes :))
