Tufty Pig died on April 10th. She went in for an operation to remove her ovaries (she had cysts) but when the vet saw what was going on inside her she phoned me straight away. Tufty's kidneys were 'rotten with cancer' and she had another mass on her cervix. The vet estimated she had at most two weeks left and we decided to let her go there & then.
Tufty has been buried next to her great love, Panda, who died last year. She leaves behind her sister, Geraldine.
I'm hoping that Geraldine will soon be able to go and stay with Erica at Little Pip's, where she will be introduced to some potential new friends. In the meantime she is keeping her strength up well, and eating everything she is offered.
Panda is at the front of this pic, then Tufty and Geraldine at the back. It's very quiet in the Piggy Palace with only one pig in there but with luck that won't last for long and we will soon have a lovely squeaky herd once more.
