Bubble has been treated for a Uti she has been on antibiotics now for 3 weeks. Today noticed she is really swollen on one side, the vet is seeing her @4.
She is still peeing blood although showing no signs of pain, saying that she has slowed down the last few days she is nearly 5. The vet mentioned ovarian cysts but she has no hair loss. Any ideas I am starting to fear the worst. Thank in advance

Hi inconclusive vet visit, vet could feel no hard mass feels like fluid. As bubble is bright eating well, enjoyed a day in her run with her best friend vet and I have decided to wait and see. We both agreed to put a 5 year old pig through surgery with a possible poor outcome is risky.
So while she remains pain free and is still enjoying life we will just continue on her meds for now. It's a difficult decision to put her through tests and possible surgery or just try and manage this persistent uti.

I note you are in Leicestersire. Can you ring Honeybunnies rescue and ask who her verts are and get to visit them? A second opinion from a trusted cavy savvy vet is always worthwhile.

Failing that, can you get to see Simon Maddox at Cat and Rabbit Clinic in Dunston Northants - he is **** the BEST vet you can see for piggie health and will give you a very worthwhile second opinion......and, in veiw of what you have descirbed, **** zitrhomax antibitioic which might help sort her probs without surgery
