someone has tried to hurt the pigs...:0
they have poured turps or a similar chemical over the hutch...
i have had a sniff of all the pigs and no one smells like they have been in contact with it...
i have bathed everyone anyway...
all are eating drinking pooing weeing and guinea pigging like normal...
but if you sit near the hutch the fumes are totally overwhelming...
they could have been in the fumey hutch for up to 4 hours...

so what i need to know.... is how deadly are the fumes from turps etc. to guinea pigs...?
all of my animals have all been moved in to my tiny house in there runs.... so they are no longer in immediate danger a sfar as its concerned...

OMG. Bloody disgusting. Sorry to hear this.
When the weather is nice, id get out and give the hutches a damn good clean with washing up liquid. I should think the smell will go eventually. Has this happened in year own private garden?

yep they are right against the fence...
ive hosed them down... but I'm plannig on scrubbing them to death tomorow...

Id call the police Claire. Honestly. This is getting all to common now. And it freaks me out everytime I hear about it. My piggliess are outside and I worry

This sounds horrible. All i would suggest is just making sure your pigs are out in the fresh air for a while. Youve probably done all you can for them but should keep an eye on them just in case. I cant believe people can be so horrid. You should call the police, even if its just reported, if more of this kind of thing happens then the police can be on the look out etc.

I hope your all ok? I'd be fuming just like you. Give your piggies a hug from me.
x.

WHAT THE HELL?! Honestly how do these ideas even come into peoples minds?! grrrr This is absolutely disgusting, i don't want to worry you even more but you don't think they were trying to cause a fire do you? Just wondering if the chemical is flammable? Happy to hear the pigs seem fine and glad they are safe inside. I can't believe it, definitely call the police. pow-pow

OMG! Total barstards! Sorry for the bad language but what total scum bags pow-pow Id kill them!

You have to tell the Police, and I would be so scared to put them back outside ever again :(

What the hell!?! What goes on in people's minds that they think of these things...pow-powpow-powpow-pow
I hope your poor piggies are okay, I know I shouldn't swear so I can't really say much more, hope you're okay Claire xox

hey guys.... the piggies are okay...
everyone has been bathed...
i dont want to start thinking about the "what could have happened"...

I'm just concerned about the fumes they may have breathed in... but i have been reassured that its nothing to diar...

I'm very angry about what has happened and i am not sure as to wether i will keep them housed outdoors anymore....

thankyou for the replys and concern showed...

Oh my goodness! Why the heck would anyone do such a thing?!

Well, I'm glad the piggies are safe Clare! Hope you're ok! xx

What the hell is the matter with people? That's terrible! I can't stand it when people are cruel to animals. ((HUGS)), and I'm glad that they are doing okay.

Just caught up with this thread - absolutely disgusting. I can't believe there are vile people out there who do things like this, I really despair sometimes at the actions of people.

I would certainly report it to the police and bring your piggies inside for the short term at least. Hope all your little ones are ok. *hugs* x

Thats awful! Its scary to think of what evil is out there. So glad your piggies are ok. I agree you should def report it to the police.

Oh God only just spotted this. Some people are just pure evil. Hope they are all ok.

I am just lost for words! why on earth would you do such a thing, it's absolutely disgusting!

Thank god your pigs are OK, hugs!

Lx

hello this is awful i really dont understand why people get kicks from hurting poor defenceless animals its beyond belief why anyone would find it fun or funny poor ginnies atleast they are washed and dried and snuggly inside if i were you i would keep them inside for the time just until you can move the hutch somewhere more secure shed outhouse etc i hope you report it too the police hun but best of luck i hope piggies are all doing fine big hugsx>>

Thank goodness that they are ok, I don't think I could put them back outside again:(. You must report this to the police, also warn any neighbours too incase they have any animals outside that would be vunerable.

That's horrible :( I don't understand how people can do things like that.

I hope they're ok, I'm sure they will be now.

I would probably not put them back outside :( Which is sad because I'm sure they enjoyed being outside, and it would also be a hassle to have to think about moving them and new housing and everything. If you can't keep them inside then maybe a locked shed would be a good idea, though you'd still be worried about someone hurting them. If you do decide to put them outside again you could get a fake alarm or fake cameras to deter people, and padlock the hutches/shed or whatever you use.
