I spent Sunday building a big pen in my shed... using the bottom level of my block of hutches, opened up, and a large run attached onto it. This means that my neutered boar Twinkle can now live with LOTS of sows, he was just with 2 before... and you should see his little face, he's so happy he just can't believe his luck!
He's gone from 2 women is his harem to 10! Lucky boy. He won't need any more presents this Christmas!
I was worried they wouldn't get on, as I've got some of the stroppiest sows in the east of England... but I think because of the open-plan space and lots of hidey holes etc, they're all ok - the odd bit of bickering but nothing major. So far so good!
