As the title suggests, the little rascal has managed to pull one of the sutures out. The top one is still holding, but the lower half the incision is peeping open. I'm not sure whether to call the out of hours surgery or hold off? I'm worried about it being exposed and the subsequent risk of infection. Advice would be amazing!

after his neuter, my rabbit bisc pulled out some of his stitches. (out of hours, middle of the night of course!) - we went to the out of hours vets as i was worried about the same things as you, although i can't remember if they even did much. they were rubbish anyway though. yours might be better. you could ring them for advice? x

They weren't much help, said they wouldn't want to mess with it at this stage. To keep an eye on her and the site, as its only just peeping open and the above suture is keeping the wound closed. They said to pop in tomorrow. Fingers crossed she wont pull out the others....silly girl! Arch the worry never stops :(

hopefully it will be ok for now and she will leave it alone. always worry after worry isn't it. x

What a tinker, never a moments peace is there with them... Hope Twix leaves it alone this evening and you can get it all sorted out tomorrow. Will keep a eye on this thread. Sending her lots of love x

My Pringles pulled 2 stitches out, one on the day she came home from the surgery and another the day after. I wasn't too concerned as both wounds stayed closed, and we went for her post op check yesterday and the vet said it doesn't matter too. Obviously if your piggies wound is gaping open I would definitely give the vet a call x

Shame they can't wear cones that dogs wear to stop them nibbling stitches. Hope Twix is ok now (and Pringles).

how's twix doing? x

Twix is doing well, she is now back with her friends and munching away. She was getting lonely and kept bar chewing. Luckily they've been very gentle with her. I'm so pleased she is leaving the second layer of sub dermal sutures alone!

I did however come home to Jammy pig looking and sounding really bloated....*sigh* so I've been sat with her vibrating my legs to help (alongside some meds) shift some of the glass as my vibrating pad has broken....gah! On the plus side I will have a nice toned bum by the time I'm finished!

glad to hear twix is doing well and the others are being gentle :)

:)) it's a strange way to exercise. i had to use an electric toothbrush wrapped in a flannel once for ches as i had no other ideas. it seemed to work well though :)) hope jammy feels better soon. x

We bought a pad for Megan she kept wandering off it...

Glad Twix doing well and lots of vibes to Jammy

Oh I know! My oh came in laughed and walked out shaking his head, lol. She is quite prone to bloat and the body vibration always seems to work more successfully than anything else. The things we do for our piggies! So far Ive been weed on three times, pooped on once but she is farting (sorry!) and her tum isnt quite so tight, so I know it is working!
