I had been thinking for a while of introducing another female to Gertie and Johnny but had not thought much of it. Well when we were at a meet up for our veggie group I got talking to a group member whose piggy had recently had unexpected babies (as we are all too aware happens way too often). Anyway she had 2 little girls left. We thought about it and decided to add one to our pair but once we realised that the baby would be on her own until intros were done we felt mean and so decided she would need some company. So ....... we came home with both. Meet Jessica and Amelie:

We are keeping them separate from Gert and Johnny until the time is right and have ordered the Trixie TRun for them to live in (they are temporarily in a ferplast cage). If allgoes well all 4 will share the TRun in the living room and free range but if not Jessica and Amelie will live in the bedroom.

Thanks I think Gert will be the deciding piggie, if they don't we don't mind keeping the newbies in the bedroom. Was really funny just now, Jess was standing on the ledge in their cage wheeking at Johnny who was rumbling and wiggling his bum back at her.

Aww what beautiful girls, they sound so lovely cant wait to hear more stories of their antics! :) Hope their settling in well and enjoying their new home!

Thanks everyone, they seem really happy and have learnt to wheek for their veggies and have eaten loads. They are very excited about the Oxbow timothy hay too. We let them have a little run in the hall but they weren't too sure bless them.

What a pair of little sweeties!

I am glad that you have decided to take both. It is easier for everypig to go from two to four than two to three.

Am glad we made the right decision.

They have just been wheeking louder than Johnny and Gert for their veggies and I have just noticed that Amelie has the most gorgeous ruby colour eyes.

Johnny and Gert are very curious and keep sitting near their cage.

New pic from today, they are in a run in the living room and Gertie and Johnny keep peering in at them, so cute. Amelie is so so loud when she wheeks. It's ear splitting.
