So i have previously said in posts that my guinea pig Echo is completely blind and i am wanting to get him a friend. I have found a skinny pig which i think would suit but i am just wondering if there is anything that changes when introducing male guinea pigs when one is blind? :hmm:

I don't think it will make much difference. If anything your new boy might be a bit of a carer if they hit it off, but the chances of them bonding are pretty much the same as with two sighted boars. Piggies don't usually have much problem without their sight. I'm not an expert though. I hope it works out!

Your blind piggy make react with fear-aggression if he feels insecure and stumped.
It would be good if you kept them side by side with interaction through the bars for a few days and let them have one or two short meetings on your lap (have oven gloves at the ready in case you need to separate!) just as 'getting to know' meetings. But you still have to do the proper introduction in one go and you have to have a plan B as an alongside with interaction through the grids set-up as your fall-back plan B.

The dynamics will likely change somewhat once the new piggy realises that the companion is blind and at the best, he will become a carer companion. Please be aware that by far not all piggies click!

As neutral ground is a lot harder to navigate for your blind boy, I would recommend to either using fleece with the scent of both boys on it or do the intros on the lawn.

Thanks for the info. Echo is extremely confident for a blind piggy and by that i mean has like no fear at all haha. Not scared of me, the dogs, loud noises . . . nothing. I actually thought he was deaf but when tested at the vet he was not.
Also i will do all the introductions which u stated above and try the scented fleece in with them. I hop they get along, so fingers crossed :)
