Would there be any problem with housing 2 sow/boar pairs in one shed, in separate hutches? Our beloved Nibble has passed over the rainbow bridge, leaving her sister, Munch, bereaved. Nibble and Munch lived in their own hutch, in a shed which also houses Doug (neutered, of course) and Flo in their own hutch. (Dylan and Zebedee, our pair of bonded intact boars, live in their hutch in a separate shed.) We are considering whether to try Munch, Doug and Flo as a trio (my daughter, whose piggie Munch is, has concerns about this option as she thinks in a three someone may be left out) or find Munch a neutered husboar. If we decided to pursue the latter option, can anyone foresee and potential problems with that arrangement?

I think keeping a neutered boar with two sows is a good idea :)) I think if you had three sows somebody would get left out but as there is a boar and two sows it would work out great. When my boar lived with my first two sows they got along great. I would try introducing the two sows to each other first and then introducing the boar in. :hmm:

I think you would be ok with the two sows one boar scenario, that said... if one is left out surely you round up to four :)) (any excuse for more piggies)

My gut feeling is that the trio is the way to go, but then on Honeybunnies' FB page (Flo and Ida {now over the rainbow bridge} were both Honeypigs) I saw Figgy Pudding...

Good Idea! If you were going to get a neutered boar why not just get another sow then you could introduce them all and nobody would get left out (hopefully) :yahoo:

Oh yes I saw him too... he is very dashing isn't he?!

He's lovely, and him and Munch would make a stunning couple! :luv::luv:I say that as though I'm going to look at a picture of a piggie and go, "Now he's NOT lovely." That's about as likely as me saying, "No thank you, I won't have another chocolate"! :))
