Two very special girls - Cherry and Sheila!

As many of you know, I collected my new little girl, Cherry, on Friday. She's settling in really well and yesterday met her cagemate Sheila.

Sheila is a 'special' piggie and has quite serious neurological problems. She is very loving and has no fear of anything. She walks around with her head held up really high, which initially confuses any cage mate as they think she is trying to assert her dominance, which is far from the case. She is very clumsy and falls over easily and forgets to eat unless she is reminded. However, she is the most happy little piggie and just wants to be friendly.

I think she is going to be the perfect friend for Cherry. I've taken a few pics of them together on my phone, so the quality isn't great but you can see how their friendship is developing. There will be lots more pics in the coming weeks.

Cherry is becoming quite confident now. I was giving Sheila a piece of apple this morning and Cherry came and took a piece from my hand too.

They are like a comedy act, bless them. This morning they were both eating at the food bowl and Cherry turned away suddenly. Her dislocated leg hit Sheila across the face and Sheila fell over. They both looked totally confused as to what had happened! :{

It's lovely watching how they are getting used to one another!

Sheila was living in a group of four, but when Tufty died last week she quickly started to be the odd one out and Hannah and Rory were always together and didn't seem to want her to join in. It's lovely seeing her interacting with a friend again.

Debbie, that is brilliant news that Cherry has come to live with you!

I am so pleased for her ... and you! I was very taken with Cherry when I read her story and saw the photos of her. Bless her! And great too that she has bonded with Sheila.

Sheila hair was 'cut' for want of a better word by her previous cagemates! I'm pretty sure it was Hannah who did it. It really doesn't look very neat if you could see her properly. In fact she looks like a badly made pom-pom! She used to have a really long fringe, but that has been totally barbered. Hopefully her hair will grow back now she's with Cherry.
