It's that dreaded time again. I hate nail clipping!

All of Sprouts nails are totally black and McMacs curl and make it really hard to get in the right position without being too close to the kwik.

I need new clippers as my ones are busted pretty much.

What ones would you suggest? I had the usual Options one (purple and black)

I can't remember the name, but I've seen some little white ones on ebay that look good. I have the wilkinsons ones and they're so chunky.
I clipped my pigs nails last night - Elmo's are black and ridiculously small but razor sharp so I do the very very tips, and Noah's are okay minus a couple that curl sideways...I don't know why they do it because I clip his nails enough. I'm worried that I'm not doing it right because of those couple :/ I go back as far as me/Noah are comfortable with and make sure they're in good shape most of the time...stupid curly nails :(

Nail clippers you use for humans, the flat ones if you know which I mean, are meant to be good too but if you have a big with a curly nail that lies to one side like Noah then it's a little difficult

Thanks :)

Yeah I don't know why McMac's nails curl. I always try to keep them as short as I can but never seems to 'fix' the curling.
Ones that are really small and maneuverable would perfect with the curly nails. The ones I had before were waaay too chunky and I could never get them in the right angle

Ohh those ones look good Amanda, nice thin ones

I am a total wimp when it comes to nails! My girls have to go to the vets for it, as I find it sooo stressful. My satin pig has all her front nails curl really badly, but I heard that some pigs just have that, it's not uncomfortable for her. Her sister who isn't a satin, she has dead straight razor sharp nails... but thankfully she doesn't mind them being done!

We too take our 4 to the vets for their nails but as our vet absolutely loves our piggies she gets a lot of enjoyment out of seeing them. They also get a check up whilst there including weight, ears, teeth and bits (where relevant) and they usually only charge for one piggy nail clipping. ;)

Lisa & Ali xx

Lucky you lisaali!

I enquired at my local vet about cost of nail clipping - £8.50 per pig! Considering I have 5 of them, it would cost me a fortune every month hehe!
