20140717_175109.webp One of my other piggies has done this to primrose, barbering I think it is called? Is there anything special I need to do or put on her bare skin

Have you actually seen the other pig do this? as it looks very fungal like to me.

If it is barbering you could apply something like Bepanthen or Sudocrem to help the healing and act as a barrier to infection or you could get something from the vets.

That's what my other half just said, I have already booked for the vets for tomorrow but I have been watching them and my naughty pig has been trying to do it to another of my pigs

Glad you have a vet visit. The barbering could be unrelated to the skin issue possibly.

Off to the vets when I get home from work, will report back then, hopefully it is nothing serious

It looks like weather related fungal to me, is it very hot and humid where you are? The vet may want to do a skin scrape but please note that only ringworm tends to show up on a culture, whereas there are many other types, Candida overload being one of them. I always treat fungal with Imaverol dips.

Very hot and humid, disgusting weather if you ask me and my tribe of piggies

It's horrible here too, and I have just heard of another 2 deaths from heatstroke, so that is 7 in the last 2 days.

Yeah hey! Do they actually enjoy a paddle in the pool? Been thinking of laying on the same treat for mine but read somewhere they dislike water and will only swim/paddle for survival! Mine too have the cold pods and frozen water filled bottles!
Will watch to see what your finds/suggests. Good luck

Mine all loved the pool, my garden is on a slope so one side of the pool has no water, they are able to get out of the water if they want but all get in the water and paddle round.
My vet gap had a good look at primrose and gap page it is defiantly barbering, and to apply a tiny amount moisturiser until the hair has grown back. I was panicking a bit for a moment but glad she is okay
