"Why is he chewing the bars like that?"
"Because he's rude."
"No really, why?"
"I told you, he's rude."
"Something must be wrong, that can't be normal."
"...he's complaining he's not being fed fast enough, that's all."
"Are you sure? That doesn't look right."

I handed the culprit a piece of parsley and oh look, everything is right with the world again.

Guinea pigs, 101 - how to get told off at feeding time! I'm sure people think I just make this stuff up for fun sometimes lol.

Hahah,, Comet at his finest?

Because Blitzen has a different naughty character, Comet is far less subtle.

Comet wouldn't know the meaning of the word. He sat on the sofa when my parents were here and kept headbutting me when I wouldn't give him the yummy food in my hand quickly enough. My mum was sitting there like "o.o"

He is so cute, it a rebellious yob sort of way.

On the bright side, now that she's met him, mum's stopped insist 1.2kg is too fat for a guinea pig. She's also quite impressed with just how long Blitzen is although my dad is half convinced that he's just all fur.

And I'm impressed with them both for managing to make a very good impression, Blitzen included. Even if he doesn't like my dad

Oh god the dreaded bar chewing- I'm all too familiar with that sound LOL. Mo learnt that technique pretty quickly and he loves to do it at 3 or 5 in the morning so I fill his pellets bowl up and give him a stroke. Steve doesn't seem to fully grasp the concept and just gently nibbles them.

Blitzen never even bothers, but he knows the sound means food is coming. So he waits to steal Comet's share lol.

The worst part was I'd walked into the room and hadn't even had a chance to sit down before he started. Patience is a virtue and Comet wants none of it!

Didn't your Granny ever tell you "Patience is a virtue, possess it if you can, seldom in a woman but never in a man" That's Comet's problem clearly he is a man piggy! Obvious:doh:

My two don't do the cage bar biting but Coco has learnt that if she rests her upper lip on the cage bars and she can make the saddest most pitiful "I'm so hungry mummy" look you have ever seen and mummy will feel bad and give her a treat (and Patchy too of course). Of course this is all accompanied by sad puppy dog eyes.

They learn quick what works don't they?

They sure do lol. I think it's all animals as my cat used to con everyone in the house that she hadn't been fed and I would wonder why she was getting so fat until everyone told me they were feeding her because they thought I was forgetting as she was kicking up such a fuss. Trust me there was no forgetting to feed this cat, she was NOT subtle lol.

I *hate* bar biting! Chewie does it (obviously!) and luckily the others haven’t caught on. BB once tried to but I told her ‘no’ in my best ‘do as you’re told’ voice and she’s never tried since! Chewie doesn’t give a monkey’s. She used to stop if I physically moved her off the bars as she didn’t like being handled but she’s not so fussed about being held now so it’s lost it’s effect! Rey just tried to shove her head through the bars but at least it’s quiet!

Mine dont bar chew but Mistletoe whistles like mad when she hears my voice and the hamster who is in their room has caught on and comes to his shelf to see what is happening as soon as Mistletoe starts up!

Your hamster reminds me of Bob she was a lovely hamster. I really miss her!

See it's funny you should say that, because Comet is not a particularly vocal piggy. Blitzen on the other hand is a chatterbox once he gets started, but he always manages to sound really grumpy when he's chattering

"I am a manly guinea pig how dare you hold on to me like this and stroke my fur and cut the knots out of it, put me down this instant, you're destroying my dignity here and this is unacceptable behaviour!"
