Umbrella and Parasol (formerly Dawnie) ... now renamed by Summerleaze :)) had their first date on Tuesday afternoon.

I have to admit that we were all very worried that Umbrella would get hurt as he is such a soft lad and so very precious to us. Parasol was born in March, very nervous little babe although she has been indoors and handled very day since we collected her nearly 3 weeks ago.

The date was in neutral territory in a run indoors and after quite a bit of rumbling by Umbrella and "I am not having any of that nonsense" by Parasol, they settled down.

Here they are after a couple of hours ....

I think that they look really good together. Parasol will take alot of tlc to get her to where Umbrella is now, but he is helping her big time. He isn't scared so she thinks why should she be.

I am so pleased that everything has worked out well for him. We love him to bits and hopefully Parasol will also xx

AWWW - what a lovely girl for a special boy!

Umbrella has certainly the replete look of a man-about-town after a good workout; Parasol still looks like the shy bride on her wedding photo... adorable xoxoxoxoxoxo

AND WHAT A NAME!

Good thing there won't be any babies or things might be parachuting off! (Sorry couldn't resist the pun!)

Aw, thank you for sharing that. I am so happy to hear that they have got on. I hope they have many happy years together. Umbrella is such a cutie and is so nice to see/hear such a happy ending to such a sad beginning.

Bev I'm grinning from ear to ear - that is such an amazing photo and I can't help smiling about the name change too. I do think it suits her though, she's so feminine, a very girly girl if you know what I mean :))

Umbrella has been on such a journey this year - his future looked so bleak back in March. How things have changed for him, it makes me feel very happy indeed. I can't begin to thank you enough for all that you have done for him. Having piggy company now will be the icing on Umbrella's cake.

They make a wonderful couple. x) x) x) Happy days ahead ;)

(love the parachute joke - Vickyt) :))

Thanks Louise ... I knew you would love this photo! :)

Thanks have to go to you, Louise, for initially helping him and the others in that rescue. Without you, Umbrella and the others would not have found happiness and I thank you for that.

Umbrella has brought such pleasure to us all here and we love him to bits. He is such a special lad and just so lovely.

We are delighted that he has found happiness, hopefully for many years to come xx

PS. Yes, Vickyt .. I did giggle at your posting. Hopefully no little parachutes! :))

Ive posted a pic of Umbrella's dad and brother Marley on photo gallery, so Parasol has married into quite a big family. I'm sure they would approve of her though :(|)

I will take a look. I have been waiting to see Mr Softy! :))

I'm so happy for little umbrella I have followed his story from the start. If they are anything like my two new mixed sex couples (my boys are neutered) they will be really happy. mine have been together 2 and 1/2 weeks and counting, they will be very happy together. The best bits are the popcorning when one has got excited for no reason and the other gets excited too!

Both of my couples set each other off so if one pair starts the other does too and there is at least 1/2 hour of running, wheeking and craziness! I love it so much I have to pause the TV and watch them as it makes me feel so happy that they finally have a happy life! x)

I hope your couple are as happy as mine are as it really is fulfilling when you finally get it right and then your realise why you were chosen by fate as their piggie mummy/daddy

Love the story, the fabulous photograph, the names are just wonderful, and Wiebke, your parachute joke made me laugh out loud.

What a perfect start to my day.

AWWWWWWWWWWW aren't they looking such a gorgeous couple x)x)x)x)
I hope they get to spend many many years of happiness together xx>>>xx>>>

ROFL Wiebke trust you to come up with that joke rolleyes:(|)

Aww bless look how cute they are x)
What a happy ending for them both xx>>>

xxxxxxxxx

Piggy Romance.
Isn't it the greatest?

I love their names and I'm so happy that they seem to be getting along x)
I hope they stay together forever.

After all that Umbrella has been through and how skinny he looked when you took him on, he's more than earned his BIG piece of happiness with that adorable littly lady of his...

I hope that Dad Mr Softly and Marley can find a similarly happy forever home as well; I really wish I could have them; they look sooo cuddly!

I can't wait for more pics from the honeymoon (hopefully in the sun!)

All is looking good for the second day in the hutch together.
Parasol is spending alot of time in the bedroom but when she comes out, Umbrella rumbles and grumbles around and then she goes back in again.

Tonight we did have a giggle as Umbrella was munching on a large piece of carrot - Parasol darted out of the bedroom, looking all nice and loving then nicked the whole piece he was eating from. Umbrella, being Umbrella, looked around as if to say "hey where has that gone" and then just carried on eating another piece from nearby.

I think she is gonna wrap him around her little paw! :))

PS. She was spotted resting her head on his back ... hopefully love eh?

She looks very much like she will one day! And the really gutting thing is - he will love her for it! :)):)):))

Nearly three weeks have passed since Umbrella and Parasol first meet.

I am happy to report that all is well!

Parasol is getting a little braver - she is just so shy but cheeky.
She always wants Umbrella has to eat and nicks it. He doesn't seem to care much and just carries on eating something else.

They are really funny to watch lately so they popcorn and run around. One starts it off, the other follows ... all goes quiet and off they go again. Their heads are shake from head to head, leap in the air and run. Great fun!

Umbrella is such a rumbler ... he rumbles and rumbles, bless him.
He has a new nickname - Mr Rumble.

I will post some new photos very soon.
